The Barry County Swiftwater Rescue Team was involved in a pair of rescues on Sunday, one just outside Cassville and the other in rural Wheaton.

A storm system Friday and Saturday dropped 3-5 inches of rain across Barry County Friday and Saturday, resulting in some flooding of low-lying areas.

The city of Cassville is again revisiting re-joining the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), as new floodplain maps are being finalized by FEMA.
