Roaring River is still murky and off colored, but not muddy. Water is running a nice 111 CFS right now, and fishing was good all week, with lots of quality fish were caught.

The river is in great condition. We are running 90 CFS right now, which isn’t bad for all the rain we’ve had in the area.

As of Monday, Roaring River had risen from 60 CFS on Sunday to 682 CFS. Fly fishing was good all week.

Roaring River is low and clear, running at 45 CFS. The river has been fishing very well this week with beetles, ants, crackle backs.

Roaring River is still clear and running 77 CFS. This is good water flow.

March 31, 2024 Water is still mostly clear. We had a bit of rain last week, but it didn’t really mess the water up much.

The water is at 62 CFS right now. This is great water to fish; it is clear and running well.

While they may be the face of the park and the object of desire for anyone with a rod and reel, anglers say when it comes to Opening Day at Roaring River State Park, it's not the fish they are necessarily after.

For the 11th year, this week I set the earliest alarm of my life. I got up at 5 a.m. on March 1, 2014, to attend my first Opening Day at Roaring River State Park. Outside of overcoming my sleepiness, as I was not much of a morning person in those days, I was excited to cover an event I was told was a local tradition, something you can’t miss if you want to know anything about Barry County.
