Determination drives Cassville boys hoops into districts
This season has been as kind as it has been unkind for the Cassville boys basketball team. The Wildcats (6-7) are shaking off the holiday rust and focusing in on a conference and district slate that mirror one another, aiming to take a high seed into the postseason.

Newer names led the Cassville boys wrestling team at the Monett Tournament on Saturday, held at Reeds Spring High School due to Monett’s gym floor being flooded. Tristan Thompson, at 157 pounds, and Riley James, at 150 pounds, both earned second-place medals for Cassville.
Lady Trojans coming together
Southwest chemistry improving, players competing for starting positions The Southwest girls basketball team has strong numbers and mix of scoring leaders and on-the-floor leaders the Lady Trojans hope will translate to greater success. At 4-8 this season, Southwest’s wins have been small in number but big in meaning.

Pros pitch in for Pickleball PD
Cassville Primary School Principal Mindi Gates gets under a ball sent her way during a professional development day pickleball exercise. Professional players Dave New and Dick Pavelski led the session. Staff also worked with iReady, had math and science training, and were given time to work in their classrooms.

Cassville speech and debate wins awards
Competing at Kickapoo and Seneca in November, the Cassville speech and debate team was awarded third in team sweeps. CS Bank names new assistant manager
A lifelong Barry County resident and Southwest graduate has been promoted to assistant branch manager of CS Bank’s Cassville location. Jason Tennant, President and Chief Lending Officer, CS Bank, recently announced the appointment of Morgan Mitchell the position.
