Missy Craig: Response to column on KISS Rebreathers death
Dear Editor: I wanted to take a minute and thank you for your tribute article to Eric Hahn and the KISS Rebreather team in the Oct. 19 paper. I thought it was very well done and presented the empathetic approach that was much needed after such a tragic accident. I have gotten to know the team quite a bit over the past year as they stay with us each month. I was gut-wrenched that Friday afternoon after I heard about an “incident” that had occurred with the team and then completely heartbroken as we learned the news of Eric’s death.

A comedic, murder mystery, a classic who dunnit of thoroughly entertaining proportions takes center stage in the upcoming SKITS community theater production of “Murder in The House of Horrors.” The audience is invited into the museums lecture on famous Egyptian Pharaoh Menkaura’s tomb, which is laden with priceless treasures, but shrouded in mystery as a most coveted jewel is stolen and an unlikely murder is committed. This audience interaction murder mystery will have everyone fully engaged trying to guess who did this outrageous deed and why? A total of 15 actors, with some added extras, and an assembly of stage-builders, artists, sound and lighting personnel, line-readers, marketing folks and well, of course, a dedicated and inspiring director are again making this another fun and entertaining production.

‘Cats fall in Brawl
For the first time since 2016, the Barry County Brawl trophy will not be displayed in Cassville’s trophy case, as the Wildcats fell on the road to the Cubs on Friday, 27-3.
Local man dies in house fire
An 86-year-old Barry County man died on Oct. 15 after his mobile home caught fire and collapsed. Trey Phillips, Jenkins Fire Department Chief, said crews were dispatched to the home on Farm Road 2150, five miles northeast of Cassville just before 2 p.m., with the initial report of smoke and flames showing from the structure, and possibly a person inside.

Fire safety week educates youth
Last week, the Cassville Fire Protection District visited area daycares and schools to discuss fire safety with children. Cpt.

Cassville heads to Monett for annual rivalry
Cassville football players will need little motivation this week. Friday’s regular-season finale is one of the biggest games on the schedule — the annual Barry County Brawl against Monett.

SADD awarded $1K for docudrama, pledges
During the Spring of 2022, Cassville High School SADD members organized and participated in a docudrama followed by a school-wide assembly educating students about the dangers of impaired and distracted driving.
