Hundreds of Barry County residents gathered on Main Street in Washburn for the 11th annual Washburn Hootenanny, held on Aug. 4. The event, which was sponsored by the Washburn Area Chamber of Commerce, featured a business expo with a variety of activities and live bluegrass music. Over 80 golfers participated in the 23rd annual Hillbilly Golf Tournament held last Thursday and Friday at the Cassville Golf Course. The tournament is held each year as a tribute to area businesses and industries that contribute to Cassville's strong economy. The tournament is run and organized by the Hillbilly Committee.
