Elmer James "Shorty" Hancock, 86, of Purdy, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, in his home. He was born April 14, 1923, in Spring Valley, Ark., the son of John Melton and Effie Lucindy (White) Hancock. He was united in marriage to Clara Mae Rassmussen and to this union three sons were born.
