Cruisers award scholarships

Haven of the Ozarks Pet of the Week
Starsky and his buddy, Hutch, were found tied to the Haven sign at the end of the road with an electrical cord. These two sweet and friendly dogs deserve much better! Starsky is a brown colored Dachshund mix and is a small dog weighing 17 pounds. Date of birth is Feb. 24, 2020.

40 YEARS AGO: NEW SURFACE FOR TRACK — Application of a cinder material on the CHS athletic field is underway under a joint school district and alumni project. Volunteers are pictured here in the first of a work project to spread the material. Superintendent Dan Bailey for the district and Jim Lassiter for the alumni group, are coordinating the effort.

Truck & Tractor Pull benefits Shrine
For the fifth consecutive year, the Stumpff Family Event Center has donated 10% of the gate proceeds from the Barry County Truck & Tractor Pull to the Shell Knob Shrine. All funds donated go to the children’s burn center and patient travel expenses. Organizers Donnie and Teresa Stumpff thank the event’s attendees, participants and sponsors.

Haven of the Ozarks Pet of the Week, Sept. 4
Black Jack is ready for fun and games. He was found as a stray. His estimated birth date is July 15, 2023. He is a shepherd mix breed. He is super friendly and loves people. Adopters can complete an adoption application at www. havenoftheozarks.org/ adopt. No appointment is needed for adopters. The Haven is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week.
