Cassville athletes rake in awards




Football, softball squads stand out in postseason honors

Fall sports have given way to winter games, and the final lists of postseason accolades for football, softball, boys soccer, volleyball, cross country, and girls golf have all been finalized.
Football
Numerous offensive Wildcats found there way onto the Big 8 All-Conference teams, including Colton Roark as First Team wide receiver, Ethan Sizemore ad First Team guard, Isaac Luney as First Team center, Kamden Beebe as Second Team running back, Jayce Magula as Second Team tackle and Preston Driskill as Second Team kicker.
For the defensive All-Big 8, Cassville honorees included Roark as First Team defensive back, Easton Hughes as Second Team linebacker, Tristan Thompson as Honorable Mention linebacker, Chance Freed as Honorable Mention defensive back, Van Thang as Honorable Mention defensive tackle, Sky Yang as Honorable Mention defensive end and Roark as Honorable Mention punter. Beebe was also named First Team return specialist.
Beyond All-Conference, six Wildcats were named to the 2025 Southwest Missouri Football Coaches Association Class 3 Team. Luney was named First Team offensive lineman and Roark was named First Team wide receiver, as well as First Team defensive back. Beebe was named First Team returner.
Finally, the Class 3 All-State teams were released last week, Roark was named First Team wide receiver, and Beebe was named First Team returner. On the Third Team, Isaac Luney earned a spot as an offensive lineman.
Second Team accolades went to Sizemore on offensive line, Driskill as kicker and Hughes as linebacker.
The Wildcats as a team turned in an 8-4 season, falling to Seneca — eventual Class 3 State Champion — in the Class 3, District 6 championship game.
Softball
On the heels of their best-ever season, the Lady Wildcats found themselves earning a validating amount of postseason accolades. Big 8 All-Conference selections included: Aubrey Stoufer as unanimous First Team pitcher and unanimous First Team infielder, Tomi Blankenship and Tyra Sturgell as unanimous First Team outfielders, Lili Naugle as Second Team pitcher and Second Team infielder, Madison Yockey as Second Team infielder, Nevaeh Johnson as Honorable Mention catcher and Joei Blankenship as Second Team designated player.
Stoufer was also named Big 8 Player of the Year, and Cassville Coach Jordan Savage was named Big 8 Coach of the Year.
In Class 3, District 6, Stoufer was named First Team pitcher, Yockey and Naugle First Team infielders, Tomi Blankenship First Team outfielder, Brianna Still Second Team infielder, Sturgell Second Team outfielder and Joei Blankenship Second Team utility/designated player.
Two Cassville players were also named to the Class 3 All-State Team, Stoufer as pitcher and Yockey as infielder.
The Lady Wildcats finished the season at 18-12, defeating Seneca for the Class 3, District 6 championship and qualifying for their first-ever Final Four, ultimately taking fourth place in Class 3.
Boys Soccer
Three Cassville soccer players earned spots on the Big 8 All-Conference list. Kaid Williams, as a midfielder, and Cayden Rhode, as a forward, each earned First Team All-Big 8 honors, and Diego Haros earned an Honorable Mention award.
The Wildcats ended the season at 9-13, falling to Monett in the Class 3, District 5 tournament opener.
Volleyball
Three Lady Wildcats collected postseason awards for Cassville this season. Taylor Kennedy was named Second Team All-Conference and First Team All-District, and Kennedy Truman and Audrey Kennedy each earned Honorable Mention All-District.
Cassville turned in a 10-20-1 season, falling to Mt. Vernon — eventual Class 3 state runner-up — in the Class 3, District 12 semifinals.
Cross Country
Two Cassville cross country runners advanced from the Class 3, District 2 meet on to State. Kayli Anderson finished 20th in the district with a time of 22:43, and Lydia Cupps was 28th with a time of 23:00. At the Class 3 MSHSAA State Cross Country Championships 2025, Anderson took 125th place with a time of 23:28, and Cupps was 155th in 25:30.
Girls Golf
Cassville had one golfer come close to state tournament qualification in Gwen Harmon, who shot a 111 at the Class 2, District 3 tournament. The score was 3 strokes away from state qualification.
