2 injured in Highway 76 wreck

Vehicle slides, strikes another on hill east of Cassville

A Washburn man and Cassville teen were injured in a wreck at 7:37 a.m. on Jan. 21 on Highway 76, 7.4 miles east of Cassville.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 16-year-old female, of Cassville, was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer westbound when her vehicle slid and struck an eastbound 2000 Chevrolet Suburban, being driven by a 35-year-old male, of Washburn, on the crest of a hill in the eastbound lane, running the Chevrolet off the road, where it came to rest on its side.
The 35-year-old male suffered serious injuries and was transported injuries to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The 16-year-old female suffered minor injuries and was transported to Cox Monett Hospital.
It is unknown if any of the individuals were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.
