Wastewater work to begin
County Farm, 10th, 11th, Meadowbrook to see most improvements After years of preparation, a major overhaul of Cassville’s sanitary sewer system is set to replace two miles of pipe and repair three miles of pipe, accounting for more than 15 percent of the system. With an expected price tag of $5 million, the goal is to replace or rehabilitate old pipe and manholes that let stormwater runoff into the system.

‘Veteran Crew’ ready to fight fires in forest
The Mark Twain National Forest has established a Veteran Crew based out of Cassville, the third of its kind in the nation consisting of prior military service members. These veterans have acquired skills in their previous careers that will benefit the crew as they perform their new duties.

Trout opening shines light on veterans

Cassville’s newest champions of trivia will be crowned after a spirited competition on March 17 at the Cassville High School commons.
Public transportation meeting Thursday
Southwest Missouri Council of Governments to meet in Cassville The Southwest Missouri Council of Governments will host a public meeting on Thursday to gather public input on the transportation needs of seniors and individuals who have disabilities or who are impoverished The meeting will be from 9-11 a.m. at Cassville City Hall, located at 300 Main St in Cassville The regional Public Transit Human Services Coordination Plan (PTHSCP) will help to identify projects and organizations eligible for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 grant funding.
New assistant principal hired
Caleb Wheeler has always called Southwest Missouri home, but next year, he will be joining the leadership team at Cassville as the new assistant elementary principal. During the February Board of Education meeting, the Cassville School Board hired Wheeler to serve as the assistant principal at Eunice Thomas Elementary and Cassville Intermediate School beginning July 1.
OATS Transit Southwest Region receives new buses
OATS Transit’s Southwest Region has received three new ADA accessible minibuses thanks to federal grant funds awarded through the Ozark Transportation Organization (OTO). The new buses were put into service at the end of February within the OTO area, which includes several southwest Missouri communities.
