Grant helps fund new bridge
Residents of Cassville will soon have a new way to cross Flat Creek — a pedestrian bridge. David Brock, Cassville public works director, said the project must be awarded in 23 months to build a 360-foot bridge from 5th Street and Highway 76 at Mill Street, across Flat Creek to the Cassville Greenway Trail.

Frank Smith, of Carthage, is 75 years old, and last year, he resigned from his role as Pastor at Rocky Comfort Church of Christ. He will celebrate 13 years of sobriety on July 6, 2023.
13 years, 50 women helped
Power of Pink raises $40K this year for 6 recipients In the past 13 years, Power of Pink has donated more than $360,000 to local women battling breast cancer, and this year, the organization donated to its 50th recipient. Janice McCrackin, Power of Pink founder, said the milestone was reached on May 14, when six recipients split the $40,051.93 raised this year, getting $6,675.32 each.

The Cassville Volunteer Fire Protection District was at the Cassville school district on the last day of summer school on Friday, spraying the playground area for students to cool off and enjoy playing in water.

Family of missing teen pushes for information
The family of Serenity Lynne Black, 17, of Rogers, Ark., who has been missing for more than a month, is making a push locally to find the teen, as she is believed to be in Barry or McDonald counties.

Safety Around Water program completes 5th year
Incoming second-grader at Cassville, Ainsley Miller, enjoyed the last day of the Safety Around Water Class by hitting the slides, getting assistance from Bradan Dickinson as she hurtled into the surf. The last day of the Safety Around Water program was Thursday. It’s the fifth year of the partnership between the school district and Cassville Area YMCA.
