A time for treats!
There will be no shortage of opportunity for local youth to stock up on sweets in coming days, as multiple trunk-or-treats and Halloween-themed events have been scheduled. Events kick off on Friday in Cassville, with the Cassville Health Center for Rehab and Healthcare, located at 1300 county Farm Road in Cassville, will host a trunk-or-treat on Friday from 4-6 p.m.

A breast cancer journey
According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected early and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99 percent. Early detection includes doing monthly breast self-exams and scheduling regular clinical breast exams and mammograms.

Cassville FBLA ‘Petals it Forward’

Cassville FBLA Officers had the opportunity to spread some sunshine around local Cassville businesses in the national flower campaign called “Petal it Forward.” Flower company Bloomingmore.com supplied 160 large prepackaged sunflowers for students to give away with the opportunity of the recipient to keep some and then “Petal some forward.” The marketing campaign brought many smiles to some deserving faces.

New super hired at Roaring River
After three months of interim staff, Roaring River State Park has a new superintendent taking the reins. Carl Bonnell, deputy director of the Ozark Lakes Region of Missouri State Parks, has announced that Melinda Kitchens has accepted the position of superintendent at Roaring River State Park and began her duties on Oct.

Hahn Memorial brings closure to community
A new memorial bench at the head of the walkway leading to Roaring River Spring was the site of many photos on Saturday as family and friends gathered at Roaring River to pay tribute to the memory of Eric Lee Hahn on the first anniversary of his death.
1,300 mammograms completed in Cassville
Cassville Mercy Hospital performed approximately 1,300 mammograms in the past year. The number was reached with the continued use of the new mammography unit, a Hologic Selenia Combo (dual) Imaging Unit, which was installed last year.

22 perform in Fall Piano Recital
Ruth Burnside, Purdy piano instructor, had 22 of her pupils perform at the Fall Piano Recital, held on Sept. 24 at Countryside Christian Church in Monett. The older students played several classical pieces, and a crowd of about 50 attended the recital.
