Lulu and her brother, O.J. were abandoned in the country, but fortunately, they were found by a nice human. OJ has since been adopted, but Lulu is still looking for her forever home. She is a black mouth cur mix born March 4, 2024.

Ribbon cutting held for new Cassville Public Works facility
A ribbon cutting was held on Jan. 30 for the new Cassville Public Works facility, located at the industrial park on Highway 37 on the south side of the city.

Southwest FFA to celebrate 50 years
The Southwest High School FFA officer team is inviting the public to its 50th anniversary celebration at the high school. In honor of this milestone, the current officer team also invites any former FFA advisors, officers or members to come to its chapter banquet. The banquet is scheduled for Sunday, May 4. 5 awarded ‘Grow Your Own’ grants
The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has awarded state-funded “Grow Your Own” grants to 125 local education agencies.

27 compete in Elementary Beta State Convention
Twenty-seven students from Cassville Intermediate competed in the Missouri Elementary Beta State Convention in Branson on Jan. 14-16. The following students placed at the state convention and have earned the opportunity to compete at the National Beta Club Convention this summer in Orlando, Florida. Robotics: Champions, Stella Rose, Mesa Cook, Audriana Cieslinski, Nellie Reed and Lillian Artherton; Marketing and Communication: 2nd place, Braxton Decker, Jace Kennedy, Miles Arnold, Silas Buntin and Jensen Ritchie; Solo Vocal performance; Golden ticket to Nationals and 3rd place, Jaelyn Cavness; On-site Cake Decorating: 2nd place, Bristol Davis; Visual Arts, Scrapbook: champion Charley Nichols, and Jewelry: 3rd place, Addileah Aldridge; Academics, Spelling: 5th place, Lillian Artherton, Social Studies: 5th place, Elona Stillwell, and Communication Arts: 4th place, Bristol Davis.

Exeter’s Stephens qualifies for Joplin Globe Spelling Bee
On Jan. 31, students at Exeter elementary competed in the qualifier for the Joplin Globe Spelling Bee. Allie Stephens, a fifth-grade student, was the winner and is now qualified to compete in the annual Joplin Globe Spelling Bee on March 14.

Exeter homecoming royalty crowned
Exeter High School celebrated Homecoming on Jan. 31 with the theme “Hollywood Homecoming.”
