Carol Duncan, 7, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Duncan of Crystal View, wsa all ready for Halloween with a set of jack-o-lanterns that had been planted in July, including an 86-pounder pictured at right. While the pumpkins were impressive, the growers said they were planted specifically for jack-o-lanterns and would not make good pies.

In 1972, the community learned that the sight of milk cans rolling into the Pet receiving station in Cassville was to become a thing of the past beginning in January. Above, Burl Lansdown, a Cassville producer, loads cans of milk as a Company Field man assists.

Oct. 4, 1972 County seat headquarters for the Democrat and Republican parties opened in Cassville the first week of October, with both parties saying the offices would remain open through the Nov.
