An Arkansas man was arrested on Dec. 9 following a traffic stop and search of his vehicle allegedly revealed 100 grams of methamphetamine.
Jeffery Edmondson, 55, of Eureka Springs, Ark., is charged with first-degree trafficking drugs, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Officer Cody Evatt, with the Cassville Police Department, at about 9:34 p.m. on Dec. 9, Evatt initiated a traffic stop within the city limits of Cassville. During the stop, the driver was identified as Edmondson, and dispatch informed Evatt that Edmondson had an active felony warrant out of Carroll County, Ark., for distribution of a controlled substance.
Edmondson was informed of the warrant and placed in hand restraints, and a search of his vehicle was conducted incident to arrest. During the search, police allegedly located a Springfield Arms pistol in the center console, as well as a large clear bag allegedly containing a white crystal-like substance Evatt believed to be methamphetamine. A glass pipe containing white residue and an empty hypodermic syringe were also allegedly found in the vehicle.
Evatt said in the report that throughout the vehicle, a large amount of small clear plastic bags were located, as well as a digital scale. Several 9mm rounds were found in various locations throughout the vehicle, as well as 15 .22-caliber rounds.
Following the search, Edmondson was read his Miranda rights and he refused to provide any statements or answer any questions.
The white crystal-like substance was weighed on a Cassville Police Department digital scale, allegedly showing a weight of 100 grams. The substance and the pipe both also allegedly tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.
Evatt noted in the statement that Edmondson has multiple prior convictions in Arkansas and Missouri between 2000 and 2025, all relating to controlled substances or firearm possession.
Edmondson is being held in the Barry County jail on no bond. A bond appearance hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 9 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
