Driver sustains minor injuries; train does not derail

A semi hauling an empty trailer was struck by a train north of Butterfield on Monday.

The incident occurred on Farm Road 1090, less than a mile north of Butterfield.

Justin Case, a witness at the scene, said the semi was crossing the tracks when the train struck the rear passenger side of the trailer, hooking and dragging the semi onto its side by the tracks.

The driver of the semi sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Cassville Mercy Hospital.
