The Eagle Rock Community Association will host its Monthly Potluck on Monday at 6 p.m. at the Community Center, located at 27824 Hwy. 86. This month’s theme is “Family Favorites.” All are welcome. The Eagle Rock Library will be starting Fall Storytime this month, meeting the first three Wednesdays at 10 a.m. This is open to all children. The Eagle Rock Lego Club will meet on Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Eagle Rock Community Center. Join for a fun time of free play and building with Ms. Kara Fletcher.

MU Extension Picnic on Tuesday

The annual Barry County Extension Annual Picnic will be held on Tuesday at the American Legion Post No. 118 on Highway 112 in Cassville. The picnic begins at 6:30 p.m., and the Extension will recognize the 2025 Century Farm Family and Barry County Missouri State Fair Farm Family.

Softball Tournament fundraiser coming Oct. 18

A Softball Tournament Fundraiser will be held on Oct. 18 at the Wheaton Ball Fields, beginning at 10 a.m., with proceeds benefitting Glenda Ball, a retired Wheaton elementary teacher diagnosed in 2001 with Diffuse Large Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, a blood cancer. Softball teams of 10-15 people may register by Oct. 16, with a $250 registration fee turned in at Wheaton City Hall. There will also be a home run derby at $10 per entry. Barry County Democratic Central Committee to meet

The Barry County Democratic Central Committee will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Cassville Branch Library, located at 301 W. 17th Street.

Waste management district to meet

The Southwest Missouri Waste Management District N will hold its Executive Board Meeting at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday at the Angus Branch Steakhouse in Monett. This meeting is open to the public. A teleconference number will also be available for this meeting, please contact the district office at 417-236-9012 or 417-342-6306 prior to the day of the meeting for the call-in number and passcode.

Purdy Special Road District to meet

The Purdy Special Road District will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Purdy District Road Barn, located at 200 South 9th Street (Farm Road 1085). The agenda includes a reading of minutes, treasurer’s report, payment of bills and other items as they may come before the board. Patrons wishing to address the commission should contact the secretary at 417-442-7328 by 4 p.m. on Friday to be placed on the agenda, with a maximum of 10 minutes to speak.

Zone 4 hosting Saturday events

Zone 4 Mini Golf & More, located at 16007 Hwy. 76 in Cassville, will host karaoke on the patio at 6 p.m. on Saturday and Bingo on the patio at 6 p.m. on Sept. 23.

Medicare 101 Educational Event at library

The Cassville Branch Library, in partnership with Mid America Insurance Solutions LLC, will host a Medicare 101 Educational Event on Sept. 16 from 2-3 p.m. at the library, located at 301 W. 17th St. in Cassville. Wheaton FFA Booster Club fundraising Saturday

The Wheaton FFA Booster Club will host a Bake Sale and Free Car Wash on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wheaton Fire Station.

Radio Society meeting Saturday

The Ozark Amateur Radio Society will host its monthly meeting the first Saturday of every month at the Happy House Restaurant meeting room in Monett on Saturday at 6 p.m., with the meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Amateur radio operators, included new ones, from Southwest Missouri are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Cassville Farmers’ Market open on Saturdays

Old Church Gallery Farmers’ Market open

The Old Church Gallery Farmers’ Market runs every Thursday from 8-11 a.m., offering farm fresh produce, eggs, jellies, relishes, baked goods, cut flowers, handmade crafts and more. Cassville First Friday Dance & Food every month

Cassville First Friday Dance & Food is a community event held on the first Friday of every month at 1111 Fair St. in Cassville. It is open to all ages. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the live music and dance is from 7-10 p.m. There is line dance as well. Admission is $10. All ages are welcome, and there is no cost for children 18-and-under. There will be door prizes, refreshments, a 50-50 raffle and a potluck dinner at 7:30 p.m., and attendees are welcome to bring a dish. All proceeds go to the Center.

Lessons offered before Seligman’s Saturday dances

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. Free dance lessons will also be given from 5-6 p.m. For more information, people may call 479-903-3640.

Seligman Bingo Night on first Tuesday of month

A Bingo Night will be held the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Seligman Chamber Event Center, located on Highway 37 north of the city. If at least 50 people attend, two train tickets will be raffled. In the case of bad weather, bingo will be postponed. The building is handicap accessible, and all ages are invited. Bingo cards are $1 per play, and there is no limit on plays. A variety of prizes, excluding cash, will be awarded. Sodas and water are available for $1 each. OATS Transit offers regular transportation services for the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. People may call the local OATS Transit office at 417-887-9272 or 800-770-6287 to schedule a ride or find out about services in the Barry County area. People may also visit the OATS website at oatstransit. org to view local schedules under “Bus Schedules,” then click on the county of service. OATS Transit is hiring drivers statewide to continue serving riders. Openings are listed on the OATS website.
