A Monett man has been charged with three felonies for alleged child sex crimes.

Jason Sikes, 48, of Monett, is charged with second-degree statutory rape, second-degree statutory sodomy, and incest.

According to a probable cause statement filed by Det. Abby Parsons, with the Barry County Sheriff’s Office, on July 22, Deputy Roller took a report of alleged past sexual assault involving multiple victims in Barry County.

On Aug. 1, Parsons conducted an interview with one victim, who disclosed multiple alleged incidents of sexual abuse by Sikes. A descendant of Sikes, the victim disclosed that two or three times per week from the age of 11-14, Sikes allegedly forced hand-to-genitalia contact, and on three separate occasions, forced intercourse.

Parsons said also on Aug. 1, Sikes requested an attorney prior to being interviewed. He was booked into the Barry County jail at 2 p.m. on Aug. 1 on a 24-hour hold, and a probable cause statement was submitted to Barry County Prosecutor Amy Boxx’s office on the same day.

Parsons noted in the statement there are multiple victims who were juveniles at the time of the alleged offenses.

Sikes remains in the Barry County jail on no bond. A bond hearing is set for Monday at 10 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
