Cassville High School’s Future Business Leaders of America recently hosted an Entrepreneurship Day for Cassville eighth-grade students, designed to encourage an interest in business and entrepreneurship as students enter high school and access to business classes. After hearing from Sunshine Coffeehouse owners, Tarra and David Jack, about their business plan, participants were divided into groups and asked to develop a business idea that could exist in Cassville. Students identified a customer base as well as developed a marketing strategy, logo and slogan. Ideas were then presented to their peers, with teachers serving as judges and awarding a first place and runner-up. The winners received gift cars to Sunshine Coffeehouse.
