Wildcats fall to Seneca at home
It was the worst of both worlds for Cassville Friday. The Wildcats struggled equally to move the ball against a stout Seneca defense, and to stop the Indians’ dynamic offense.

Returning to accomplish that goal will be seven Lady Wildcats, including All-Conference junior Emerson Grossman, one senior and five juniors.

Wildcats hyped to build on Week 1 win
Special teams can make or break a game, and the Cassville football team (1-1) took full advantage of the power those few plays have to earn a road win over Hollister on Friday. Bolstered by good field position on kickoff and punt returns, the Wildcats turned a 21-20 halftime lead to a 35-26 final.
Lady Wildcats set lofty goals
A second-place finish in the district last season was just a whetting of the whistle for the Cassville softball team. Lori Videmschek, Cassville softball coach, said with six returners and four seniors, this year’s Lady Wildcats are ready to compete.
Southwest trap team finishes season strong
The Southwest Trap team ended its 2022 season at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, Ill., on Aug. 1-2. Day one of the competition brought high temperatures and uncomfortable conditions.
