Cassville anglers 4th in fishing tourney
The Cassville High School fishing team hit Stockton Lake for a championship tournament recently, bringing back multiple awards, including Big Bass. The Pro-Team Association Tournament(PTA)andNational Youth Fishing Association (NYFA) Championships were held June 10-11.

58 camp with Stiles
A total of 58 campers attended the Jackie Stiles basketball camp in Cassville on June 27. Children attended from Cassville, Neosho, Branson, Mt. Vernon, Marionville, Exeter, Southwest, Wheaton, Shell Knob and Pea Ridge, Ark., among others. It was the second year for the camp, which was open this time to grades 3-12 with sponsorship by the Cassville Wildcat Basketball Boosters.

James siblings head to nationals
A Cassville teenager is showing just because she comes from a small town does not mean she can’t have a big impact. Faith James, incoming Cassville senior and prolific wrestling talent, helped Missouri USA Wrestling hoist its first ever national title, for boys or girls, at the 2023 Junior National Duals in Tulsa June 13-17.

Little League seasons wrap up
Cassville’s Jackson Trent slides safely into third en route to scoring a run for his team in the Minor Little League Tournament at Cassville’s City Park on Thursday. The Cassville team finished third in the tournament.

June 28, 2023 — Water is clear and low at Roaring River at 12.5 CFS as of Sunday — the dry fly fishing is great right now. Beetles, ants, caddis, blue wing olives, cahills, griffiths gnats, and hoppers are all working right now, and the use of a 9’ 7X leader is best.

Athletic training contract terminated
As a result of hiring shortages in the area, Cassville athletics may not have a full-time athletic trainer for sporting events when school starts in the fall. Lance Parnell, who just began his new role as athletic director, said the district was notified ta the end of May that Mercy would not be renewing its athletic trainer contract with the district.
Cassville Baseball Club hosting tryouts
The Cassville Baseball Club (CBC) is entering its second year of organized play, aiming to fill squads from the 8U age level up to 16U. Tryouts for the Club will be held July 31 through Aug.
