July 12, 2023 The river is still low and clear as of Sunday, with the CFS at 22. The dry flyfishing is still very good at this time with elk hair, Caddis, blue wing olives, parachute Adams, Griffiths gnats, beetles and ants all afternoon and small hoppers are still doing very well.

Buzzer sounds on Lady Wildcats’ summer hoops schedule
With three starters gone, the Cassville girls basketball team approached its 20 days of summer workouts as an opportunity to scope a new starting lineup and get as many players as possible some minutes on the floor. Clayton Bagby, Cassville girls basketball coach, said the summer session started May 22 and ended June 20.

July 5, 2023 The river is low and clear as of Sunday, and with the water running at 28 CFS, dry fly fishing is fantastic right now. Tricos in the morning; caddis most of the day; blue wing olives in the afternoons; a few sulphurs in the evening; and beetles, ants and hoppers work all afternoon.


Cassville anglers 4th in fishing tourney
The Cassville High School fishing team hit Stockton Lake for a championship tournament recently, bringing back multiple awards, including Big Bass. The Pro-Team Association Tournament(PTA)andNational Youth Fishing Association (NYFA) Championships were held June 10-11.

58 camp with Stiles
A total of 58 campers attended the Jackie Stiles basketball camp in Cassville on June 27. Children attended from Cassville, Neosho, Branson, Mt. Vernon, Marionville, Exeter, Southwest, Wheaton, Shell Knob and Pea Ridge, Ark., among others. It was the second year for the camp, which was open this time to grades 3-12 with sponsorship by the Cassville Wildcat Basketball Boosters.

James siblings head to nationals
A Cassville teenager is showing just because she comes from a small town does not mean she can’t have a big impact. Faith James, incoming Cassville senior and prolific wrestling talent, helped Missouri USA Wrestling hoist its first ever national title, for boys or girls, at the 2023 Junior National Duals in Tulsa June 13-17.
