Victory Baptist selects first Rylan Wilson Scholarship recipient
Victory Baptist Church in Cassville has awarded the first Rylan Wilson Scholarship to a local recipient, Webb City graduate Elizabeth Rose Dodson. The $500 annual scholarship is open to residents of Barry County or children/grandchildren of Victory Baptist Church members.

18 teachers join Cassville
The Cassville R-IV School District will welcome 18 new members to the Wildcat teaching staff and one new assistant principal during the 2023-2024 school year. New staff members have spent some time on campus this week learning about the district, meeting their coworkers, completing staff training and preparing for their students. The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce members provided welcome bags that were given to each new staff member during their first day of training. Depot Auto Show celebrates year 5
First-place winner, John Henderson, with his 1968 Camero, at the 5th Annual Exeter Depot Auto Show on Aug. 12. The event saw approximately 50 vehicles present, and the rain went away halfway through the event, resulting a beautiful outcome and great day on Front Street.

Cassville grad awarded JD Riddle scholarship
Jacob Martinez, a 2023 graduate of Cassville High School, has received the JD Riddle Educational Trust scholarship, administered by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. Martinez, the son of Maria and Filipe Mendoza, will attend Missouri Southern State University this fall, where he plans to pursue a degree in secondary education.

The city of Washburn will allow residents to bring any tree limbs damaged by recent storms to the corner of County Road and Farm Road 1065, the City Lagoon, for disposal on Sept. 9 from 8 a.m.
