Cassville High School Senior Baseball player, Isaac Hadlow, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA).

Cassville R-IV has been designated a “Grief-Sensitive School” by the New York Life Foundation, receiving a $2,000 Grief-Sensitive Schools Initiative grant in order to better support the mental health of grieving students who are facing trauma.

Competing at Kickapoo and Seneca in November, the Cassville speech and debate team was awarded third in team sweeps. Students enrolled in the Jobs for American Graduates Program (JAG) at Cassville High were asked to complete an essay answering the following question: “what do you wish all Missourians knew about JAG?” Cassville JAG member and CHS senior, Sara Longley, was selected as the local essay winner. Essay winners across the state were invited to an event on Nov. 1 in Jefferson City. Longley, joined by her grandfather, Landon Fletcher, and JAG Advisor Teresa Stewart, toured the Governor’s Mansion, enjoyed lunch with JAG students and advisors from across the state and were honored by Gov. Mike Parson and First Lady Teresa Parson during a reception at the Capitol Rotunda. JAG compiled all winning essays and created a book for the winners as a keepsake.

The campus at Cassville High School will soon be home to more than 60 new trees. The high school agriculture department was recently awarded a Project CommuniTree grant from the nonprofit organization, Forest ReLeaf of Missouri.

Employees at Arning Companies have made a donation of $500 to the Cassville Middle School Backpack Program. Arning team members are given the opportunity to “dress-down” on Fridays by contributing to the Casual Friday for Charity (CFFC) fund. Employees then select a local organization to donate funds raised through the CFFC program. The Bright Futures Backpack Program provides nonperishable food items to children in the district that may need food assistance over the weekend. Bright Futures, established at Cassville Schools in 2011, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing community members together to focus on the success of children. During the Spring of 2022, Cassville High School SADD members organized and participated in a docudrama followed by a school-wide assembly educating students about the dangers of impaired and distracted driving.
