Cassville graduate awarded Olin J. Brattin scholarship

Tyra Campbell, a 2023 graduate of Cassville High School, has received the Olin J. Brattin Scholarship, administered by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.

Campbell, the daughter of Sherry and Delbert Campbell, will attend Missouri State University this fall, where she plans to pursue a degree in psychology.

“Receiving this scholarship allows me to get one step closer to pursuing my dream in psychology,” Campbell said. “My goal is to erase the stigma that surrounds mental health and provide support in the community.”

The Olin J. Brattin Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 by Jim Brattin and Sherry Wiseman, children of Olin J. Brattin, to further the higher education of Cassville, Wheaton and McDonald County high school students. Over the last 14 years, the fund has produced nearly $95,000 in scholarships for more than 40 students.

The CFO and its regional affiliate foundations hold about 480 scholarship funds, established by generous donors to help students from across central and southern Missouri achieve their goals of higher education. The application period for the 2024-2025 school year will open Jan. 1, 2024, and run through mid-March. For more information, people may visitvisit cfozarks.org/ scholarships.
