Purdy man injured in semi crash

Vehicles collide at intersection of Hwys. 37, C

A Purdy man was injured on Dec. 22 in a wreck at 5:08 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 37 and Highway C in Purdy.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 69-year-old male, of Purdy, was driving a 1998 Ford Expedition westbound when his vehicle failed to yield to a 2003 Kenworth, being driven by a 27-year-old male, of Monett.

The Purdy man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. The Monett man was not injured.

It is unknown if either driver was wearing a safety device. The Ford was totaled, and the Kenworth sustained moderate damage.
