Shell Knob-area teen found safe

UPDATE: 5 P.M. FRIDAY: According to the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Sherwood has been found safe in Barry County.
UPDATE – 10 A.M. FRIDAY: Sherwood was seen at 5:56 p.m. Wednesday at the Dollar General in Golden, wearing blue jeans, a blue sweater and a ballcap. Barry and Stone County Deputies are in the area searching for her.
The Stone County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in locating a 16-year-old girl from the Shell Knob area missing since 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Mika Ann Sherwood, a 5-2, 120-pound 16-year-old, went missing from the area of Highway H and Highway 39 near Viola, about 5 miles south of Shell Knob, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
She was last seen walking in the Highway H and Highway 39 area, wearing cowboy boots and a red coat with gold buttons.
Anyone with information regarding Sherwood’s whereabouts should call 9-1-1 or Stone County Dispatch at 417-339-9117.
