Preston Yunk, 25, passed away unexpectedly at home in Cassville, Mo., on Tuesday, June 30. He was born September 13, 2000 in Brandon, Fla., to Ronald and Janet (Ballenger) Yunk. 

He is survived by his parents, brother David of Nogales, Mexico, and brother Powell and his wife Kayla Knight of Leesburg, Va.; his paternal grandmother Maxine Yunk of Hutchinson, Kan., aunts Jean Ann Ballenger of Stillwater, Oklah., Katie Edelbute of Leawood, Kan., and Crystal Miller (Darrel) of Hutchinson, Kan.; Brook Ballenger of Stillwater, Oklah., Robert Yunk (Jonelle) of Oklahoma City, Oklah., and Steve Yunk of De Soto, Kan., as well as numerous cousins. 

He was preceded by his grandparents David & Lois Ballenger, and Raymond Yunk.

He attended Valrico Elementary, Mann Middle School, and Durant High School until his family relocated to Cassville in 2018. He was a member of Cassville High School Class of 2019. He continued his education locally at Crowder College and completed his associate’s degree before being diagnosed with schizophrenia.
