Funds used to purchase new commercial cooling units

His House Foundation, located in Shell Knob, recently received a Strengthening Our Network Grant thanks to Ozarks Food Harvest’s $1 million investment in agency infrastructure in southwest Missouri. 

The grant funded two new commercial cooling units, replacing failing old equipment and ensuring consistent food safety for His House residents’ daily meals and snacks.

Lisa Miller, Kitchen Director at His House Foundation, expressed her gratitude for the grant.

“This grant made it possible for His House to purchase much needed equipment that stores the food we use to provide meals for 33 full time residents, 19 children and 14 adults,” she said. “We rely on the food we receive from Ozarks Food Harvest to provide healthy meals for our families.”

Ozarks Food Harvest is the Feeding America food bank for southwest Missouri, serving faith-based and community charities across a third of Missouri. The Strengthening Our Network Grant provides up to $25,000 for capacity building projects that help The Food Bank’s network of charities serve people in the Ozarks more effectively. 

“The Strengthening Our Network Grant assists our partner charities with purchasing equipment they need to better serve our neighbors,” said Bart Brown, president and CEO of Ozarks Food Harvest. “We’re thrilled to be able to help our network partners as the need for food assistance in southwest Missouri continues to grow.”
