Purdy superintendent issues statement on late board president
Travis Graham, superintendent of the Purdy School District, recently issued a statement on the passing of Board President David Young, who died on March 14.
“The Purdy R-II School District is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of School Board President David Young,” Graham said. “Mr. Young served the Purdy community with dedication and integrity for six years as a member of the Board of Education, including his final year as board president.
“Throughout his service, Mr. Young consistently demonstrated a commitment to pursuing excellence on behalf of our district. He approached every decision with the best interests of students, faculty, and staff at heart. His servant leadership and steady guidance helped shape important work within our schools and strengthened the mission of the district.
“Mr. Young cared deeply about the Purdy community and believed strongly in the power of education to change lives. His leadership, thoughtfulness, and willingness to serve will leave a lasting impact on the Purdy R-II School District for years to come.
“On behalf of the district, we extend our deepest condolences to the Young family and all who knew and loved him. Mr. Young will be greatly missed, and his legacy of service to our students and community will not be forgotten.”
