2 injured in Highway 76 wreck

Vehicle slides, strikes another on hill east of Cassville

Two Washburn men were injured in a wreck at 7:37 a.m. on Jan. 21 on Highway 76, 7.4 miles east of Cassville.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 16-year-old female, of Cassville, was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer westbound when her vehicle slid and struck an eastbound 2000 Chevrolet Suburban, being driven by a 35-year-old male, of Washburn.
The driver of the Suburban and a passenger in the vehicle, another 35-year-old male, of Washburn, each suffered injuries. One suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, and the other suffered minor injuries and was transported to Cox Monett Hospital.
The driver of the Explorer was not injured.
It is unknown if any of the individuals were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.
