Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at FUMC
The Cassville United Methodist Church will host a candlelight Christmas Eve Service on Dec. 24 at 6:30 p.m. Please join with others as the church welcomes Christ into our world. All are welcome at the service at the church, located at 601 Gravel Street in Cassville.
Capps Creek Road District meeting
The Capps Creek Special Road District will meet in regular session on Dec. 18 at noon at the home of Garry and Pam Bartkoski, located at 5086 Farm Road 2057 in Monett. The public is welcome to attend.
FUMC’s Christmas Card to Cassville on Dec. 14
All are invited to the Christmas Card to Cassville at 6 p.m. on Dec. 14 at the Cassville United Methodist Church, located at 601 Gravel Street. This annual free event will present an evening of music and celebration featuring various musical solos and ensembles, including the handbell choir. Refreshments will be served following the event. More than 200 nativity scenes will be available for viewing from 1-6 p.m.
Christmas Dinner at Senior Center on Dec. 19
The Cassville Senior Center, located at 1111 Fair Street in Cassville, is hosting its annual Christmas Dinner on Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be live music and a gift giveaway.
SHINE Ozarks Homeschool Co-Op Expo on Thursday
The SHINE Ozarks Homeschool Co-Op Expo will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Washburn First Baptist Church. The event will offer information about the Co-Op and how families may utilize it.
Cassville Branch Library in December
The following events will be held at the Cassville Branch Library through December: Dec. 10, Teen Painting, 3:30 p.m.; Dec. 11, Steam Club, 3:30 p.m.; Dec. 12, Reindeer Centerpiece, 5:30 p.m.; Dec. 13, Christmas Rag Tree, 10 a.m., and Crochet Club, 10 a.m. to noon; Dec. 16, Tot Time, 9:30 a.m., and Storytime, 10 a.m.; Dec. 17, Youth Paint, 3:30 p.m.; Dec. 18, Kids Movie, 3:30 p.m.; Dec. 20, Crochet Club, 10 a.m. to noon; Dec. 23, Storytime, 10 a.m., and Homeschool program, 11 a.m.
Santa and Friends event in Eagle Rock
The Eagle Rock Branch Library and Friends of the Library will host the Annual Santa and Friends event on Saturday from 3-4 p.m. at the Eagle Rock Community Center, located at 27824 Hwy. 86. There will be cookies for children to decorate, crafts to make and a visit from Santa.
Cassville Farmers’ Market open on Saturdays
The Cassville Farmers Market is open weekly on Saturdays on the Barry County Courthouse Square, from 8 a.m. to noon. Vendors are offering eggs, vegetables, hand-made crafts, baked goods and more. Those interested in becoming a vendor may contact Chad Sprinkle at 417-846-3539.
Wheaton Depot Museum open
The Wheaton Depot Museum is open from 1-5 p.m. on Sundays for individuals to come in and see exhibits. For more information, people may call 417-846-3146.
Lessons offered before Seligman’s Saturday dances
The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. Free dance lessons will also be given from 5-6 p.m. For more information, people may call 479-903-3640.

OATS Transit offers regular transportation services for the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. People may call the local OATS Transit office at 417-887-9272 or 800-770-6287 to schedule a ride or find out about services in the Barry County area. People may also visit the OATS website at oatstransit.org to view local schedules under “Bus Schedules,” then click on the county of service. OATS Transit is hiring drivers statewide to continue serving riders. Openings are listed on the OATS website.
