A Cassville man has been arrested for allegedly shooting toward a victim’s home in the city limits of Cassville on Friday.

Frank Cruise, born 1992, of Cassville, is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

According to a probable cause statement filed by Jesus Perez, officer with the Cassville Police Department, officers were dispatched at 10:15 a.m. to a location in the city limits of Cassville in reference to gunshots being fired.

Perez made contact with a witness, who said he observed a male, later identified at Cruise, stop on the roadway in front of the victim’s house and allegedly shoot. The witness then demonstrated to Perez what occurred by making a gun gesture with his hand, pointing it toward the victim’s house and saying, “Pop, pop.” The witness said Cruise allegedly used his left hand to shoot the gun and fired twice, according to Perez’s statement.

Perez said two holes were found in the grill of the victim’s vehicle, and two bullets were recovered from inside the hood of the vehicle behind the radiator.

The victim said he knew Cruise because of the off-road vehicle he was driving. Dispatch also informed Perez that the suspect was a male wearing tan overalls and a black helmet, riding a red off-road vehicle spray painted black.

Perez said when he made contact with Cruise, he was wearing tan overalls, in possession of a black helmet and got on a vehicle described by dispatch.

Cruise was booked into the Barry County jail on Friday at 11:37 a.m. He is being held on a cash-only bond of $25,000. A court date had not been set by presstime.
