Dear Editor:

In response to the letter from Washburn in the Democrat, the loss of revenue for the city is because the city clerk failed at her job in December.

It was not the previous administration.

The city clerk was asked if she had filed the paperwork, and she replied that it had been taken care of.

Also, for the record, three of the five people in the previous administration are still there. The two new members took office in April.

I was mayor for 16 years, had four other clerks for the city and never received any fines.
