Fumes explode motor on boat near Eagle Rock

Three North Carolina Residents were injured at about 3:36 p.m. on Aug. 12 in a boat explosion on Table Rock Lake.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the operator of a 1987 Cobalt, a 41-year-old male, of Monroe, N.C., attempted to start the watercraft when gas fumes exploded the motor.

The 41-year-old male and a 14-year-old male, of Monroe, N.C., suffered moderate injuries. An 18-year-old female, also of Monroe, N.C., suffered serious injuries. All three individuals were transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

The boat sustained moderate damage.
