Dear Editor:

Someday, those of us who condoned deporting people who came here out of need are going to have to explain how it was okay with us.

The Bible is pretty explicit about how we are supposed to treat the poor, the hungry, the sick, and the foreigner. It’s on repeat throughout the Old Testament and the New.

There’s no mention of how they should have jumped through a bunch of hoops and had enough money to afford the thousands of dollars it costs to become a citizen here. So far this administration has broken all these commands, and many of us cheered it on.
