Consumer confidence report for the Cassville water system now available

The City of Cassville’s water quality report for the year 2024 is now available online at www.dnr.mo.gov/ccr/mo5010144.pdf. The document, also called a Consumer Confidence Report, provides important information about the City’s efforts to provide safe drinking water. Residents can find detailed information about where their drinking water comes from as well as what trace elements (contaminants) have been detected. Residents can call City Hall at 417-847-4441 to obtain a printed copy of the report or to obtain more information on the municipal water system.

Eagle Rock Branch Library hosting events

The Eagle Rock Library is hosting “Sweatin’ with the Friends” every Monday at 9 a.m. at the Eagle Rock Library/Community Center. There will be “Chair You” and other low impact exercises along with lots of belly laughs. All are encouraged to swing in and enjoy the fun class.

Cassville UMC hosting traveling band

The Cassville United Methodist Church is bringing Arbour Season to Cassville for two events. Arbour Season is an indie/folk husband and wife duo who express their passion for life through music with intricate instrumentation, layered harmonies and narrative lyricism. On May 22 at Hungry Hollow Brewing Co., Arbour Season will play from 6-8 p.m. There will be a food truck on site at 5:30 p.m. for attendees to grab some food and help the church plan the Cassville Community Revival service project. Arbour Season will also perform on May 25 at the American Legion Memorial Park. Bring a lawn chair and join the church at 10 a.m. to celebrate Christ and community in the Spring sunshine. Lunch will be provided. The church’s invitation is open to all. If there is inclement weather, the event will be held at the church at 601 Gravel St. in Cassville.

Lawrence and Barry County Democrats Meeting

Lawrence and Barry County Democrats will hold their regular monthly meeting on Thursday at the Angus Branch Steakhouse, located at 114 Chapel Drive in Monett. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. Those wishing to eat should arrive by 5:30-5:45 p.m., with each paying their own expense. Jeremy Dean, Missouri State Representative fro the 132nd District, will be the guest speaker and will give a report on the 2025 Legislative Session. Crystal Quade, former State Representative and Democratic Candidate for Governor last Fall has also been invited. All area Democrats and like minded friends are encouraged to attend.

Grief support group starts June 3

A free eight-week Grief Support Group begins June 3 at 7 p.m. at Cassville United Methodist Church. The group is facilitated by a professionally licensed counselor and is open to all. For more information, people may call 417-847-2328.

CHS Annual Alumni Dinner on Saturday

The Cassville High School Annual Alumni Dinner will be held on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at the performing arts center. Doors open at 5 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6 p.m., followed by a short meeting and program. The cost is $15 per person.

Antioch Cemetery meeting Sunday

The 2025 Antioch Cemetery Annual Meeting has been scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. at the cemetery grounds. All members and interested parties are invited to attend. People may email Teresa Phillips at antiochcemetery@yahoo.com with any questions.

Old Church Gallery Farmers’ Market now open

The Old Church Gallery Farmers’ Market runs every Thursday from 8-11 a.m., offering farm fresh produce, eggs, jellies, relishes, baked goods, cut flowers, handmade crafts and more. Wheaton Depot Museum open

Cassville Branch Library weekly events

The Cassville Branch Library will host the following events this week: Thursday, Steam Club (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics experiments), 3:30 p.m.; Friday, “Wreck This Journal” session for mental health awareness, call the library for more information.

Seligman Bingo Night on first Tuesday of month

A Bingo Night will be held the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Seligman Chamber Event Center, located on Highway 37 north of the city. If at least 50 people attend, two train tickets will be raffled. In the case of bad weather, bingo will be postponed. The building is handicap accessible, and all ages are invited. Bingo cards are $1 per play, and there is no limit on plays. A variety of prizes, excluding cash, will be awarded. Sodas and water are available for $1 each. Cassville Senior Center hosting monthly dances

The Cassville Senior Center hosts a dance and potluck dinner with live music on the first Friday of every month. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the live music and dance is from 7-10 p.m. Admission is $10 and the Senior Center is located at 1111 Fair St. in Cassville. All ages are welcome, and there is no cost for children 18-and-under. There will be door prizes, refreshments, a 50-50 raffle and a potluck dinner at 8 p.m., and attendees are welcome to bring a dish. All proceeds go to the Senior Center.

OATS rides available in Barry County

OATS Transit offers regular transportation services for the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. People may call the local OATS Transit office at 417-887-9272 or 800-770-6287 to schedule a ride or find out about services in the Barry County area. People may also visit the OATS website at oatstransit.org to view local schedules under “Bus Schedules,” then click on the county of service. OATS Transit is hiring drivers statewide to continue serving riders. Openings are listed on the OATS website. OATS offices will be closed and regular service will not be operating on May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.

Lessons offered before Seligman’s Saturday dances

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. Free dance lessons will also be given from 5-6 p.m. For more information, people may call 479-903-3640.
