Scoreboard — Feb. 15
The Cassville boys basketball team (12-10) picked up a pair of wins in three tries last week. On Tuesday, the Wildcats defeated Lamar on the road, 53-49, then they fell to McDonald County at home Wednesday, 52-49.
One year, one signing
Cassville senior Maci Barton has only played competitive golf for one year, but that was all she needed to be selected to play at the next level. A softball player since the age of 5, Barton decided to switch to golf because it is one of her father’s favorite sports.
Exeter boys rebuilding in low-win season
It’s been a tough road for the Exeter boys basketball team this season, battling through a rebuilding year with a no-quit attitude. The Tigers (0-17) have six games left in the regular-season slate, three of which are conference games, and Coach Tremayne Williams likes the odds to break the winless streak.
Cassville grad takes up rugby at Drury
Not many athletes can pick up a sport at the collegiate level and thrive at it, but that is exactly what one Cassville graduate is doing at Drury on the women’s rugby team. Alexis Mann, a 2020 graduate, is a former multi-sport athlete for the Lady Wildcats and now captains the Lady Panthers on the pitch.

Due to ongoing winter weather, the Cassville boys basketball team played its first game in 14 days on Friday. The Wildcats (10-9) fell to Nevada at home, 57-43.
Lady Wildcats host Monett
Cassville’s Kailey Artherton maneuvers for position on Monett’s Jenna Spencer on Jan. 26. Artherton won the 115-pound matchup with a pin at 2:23.
Cassville hires Parnell as AD
An internal hire at the Cassville school district last week will bring a familiar face back to high school athletics. Doug Martin, hired as athletic director in 2015, is retiring and will be replaced by former Cassville football coach Lance Parnell.
6 Wildcats make finals in Seneca
It was the last regular-season tournament of the year, and the Cassville boys showed they are ready for districts. Six of the eight Wildcats competing reached the championship match in their respective weight classes, and two came home with gold medals.
