Shelter Insurance awards pair of scholarships

The Shelter Insurance Foundation recently awarded $1,500 scholarships to Nevaeh Johnson and Jayci Park, graduates of Cassville and Wheaton high schools.

Shelter Agent Terri DeGraffenreid Brattin sponsored and partially funded this scholarship.

A committee of local high school officials and community leaders selected the local recipients. The committee considered each applicant’s scholastic achievements, educational goals, citizenship and moral character, as well as participation and leadership in school and community activities.

The scholarships were awarded without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, veteran status, genetic information or any other classification protected by federal, state or local law.

Beginning the fall after the recipients’ high school graduation Johnson and Park can direct the scholarship funds toward tuition, fees or campus housing for any course of study leading to an academic degree at any accredited college or university. The scholarship is paid directly to the schools the recipients select.

Johnson and Park received a certificate from Terri Lynn on behalf of the Shelter Foundation.
