1. Why do you want to win this position?

I want to win this school board position because I care deeply about the future of our school and the families in our community. As a parent and a proud alumni of this district, I understand the importance of having a strong school with solid leadership. Our teachers deserve support, our students deserve every opportunity to succeed, and our parents deserve to have their voices heard. I want to serve on the board to help make thoughtful decisions that keep students first, support the teachers in our classrooms, and strengthen the connection between our school and our community. This isn’t about a title for me—it’s about giving back to the district that helped shape me and working to ensure the next generation of students has the same opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.

2. If elected, what is your number one goal on the school board?

If elected, my number one goal is to keep students at the center of every decision the board makes. That means supporting our teachers so they have the resources they need in the classroom, focusing on strong academic outcomes, and making sure our schools continue to prepare students not just for graduation, but for life. I also believe it’s important that parents and community members feel heard and involved. When the school, families, and teachers work together, students have the best chance to succeed. My goal is to help strengthen that partnership while always keeping the focus on what’s best for our kids.

3. What areas of the school district do you think need improvement?

Our district has many strengths, including dedicated teachers, supportive families, and a community that cares deeply about our school. One area where I believe we can continue to improve is communication and collaboration between the district, parents, and the community, while also focusing on teacher retention. Our teachers play a critical role in student success, and supporting them helps create stability in our classrooms. When teachers feel supported and valued, they are more likely to stay and continue investing in our students and our community. Strengthening communication and continuing to support and retain quality teachers will help ensure our district remains strong and continues moving in a positive direction.

4. What capital projects do you believe the district should pursue?

When considering capital projects, my priority would be making sure our existing school facilities are safe, well maintained, and able to support a strong learning environment for students and teachers. Before pursuing large new projects, I believe it is important for the board to carefully evaluate the condition of our current buildings, address necessary maintenance, and ensure classrooms have the resources and infrastructure they need to support learning. This includes things like building safety, updated facilities, updated security system and spaces that support both academics and student activities. Any capital project should be approached responsibly, with transparency and input from the community, to make sure we are making decisions that benefit students while being good stewards of taxpayer dollars.

5. What do you feel is most important for raising the quality of education provided by Wheaton schools?

I believe the most important factor in raising the quality of education in Wheaton Schools is supporting and retaining strong teachers while keeping students at the center of every decision. Great teachers are the foundation of a strong education system. When educators feel supported, valued, and have the resources they need in the classroom, they are better able to help students succeed. Focusing on teacher retention and classroom support helps create consistency and stronger learning environments for students. It is also important to maintain high academic expectations while supporting opportunities that help students grow both in and out of the classroom. When teachers, families, and the community work together, it creates a stronger school system that benefits every stude.
