Hubert “Hue” Bowers

Hubert “Hue” Bowers of Berryville, Ark., was born July 22, 1929, in Conrad, Iowa, to Alva and Ada (Bockes) Bowers. Hue passed away Jan. 19, 2026, in Berryville at the age of 96.
Hue was aNavy veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a dedicated Boy Scout leader, and he found joy in the simple rhythms of gardening. A track athlete in high school, he loved being outdoors golfing or fishing on quiet mornings. Hue was also a gifted painter and an avid collector. For several years, he worked at the Passion Play, a mission he deeply believed in. Above all, Hue leaves behind a legacy of kindness, craftsmanship and steady dedication.
Hue was married to Dorothy Lee Litchfield, the love of his life, on June 30, 1951.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alva and Ada Bowers; wife Dorothy Bowers; and sisters Luella Jane Nordhagen and Bonnie Tesdall.
He is survived by his children Trent Bowers, Jamie Dickelman and husband Bryan; grandson Hunter Dickelman; brother Lavern “Butch” Bowers; along with other family members and friends.
