alas Cecilio “Chilo” Salas Salas, 80, of Monett, Mo., passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

He was born on November 22, 1944, in Zacatecas, Mexico to the late Pedro Salas and Maria Del Refugio Salas, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores Salas Haros; five sons, Bucho Salas and his wife Adriana, Tono Salas and his wife Rosa, Pablo Salas and his wife Maria, Emeterio Salas and his wife Margarita, and Pedro Salas and his wife Sofia; four daughters, Maria F. Salas, Candelaria Salas and her husband Francisco, Maria del Carmen Salas and her husband Pablo, and Veronica Salas and her husband Rogelio; three brothers, Cruz Salas, Lino Salas, and Bernardino Salas; two sisters, Benita Salas and Dona Salas; twenty-four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He grew up and received his education in Zacatecas.

For 15 years, he dedicated himself to his work at Tyson in Monett, Mo.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Cassville, Mo. under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Father William Hodgson will conduct the services. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Monett, Mo.

The family will begin receiving friends at 6:00 P.M. with the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. The visitation will go through the night.
