Cassville thinclads qualify to state
The Cassville 4×100 relay team has qualified to the Class 3 State Championship. The team of Mace Bredeson, Kyle Bailey, Kamden Beebe and Jacob Walker turned in a time of 43.82 to take 4th place at the Class 3, Sectional 3 on Saturday. Also competing was Corbin Rhoads, who finished 5th in the pole vault with a height of 3.73 meters. In girls results, Aaliyah Franklin was 2nd in the discus competition with a distance of 35.13 meters. She also qualified to state in the shot put, throwing 10.72 meters to finish in 4th place. Evelyn Elliott also qualified to state, taking 4th place in the 100-meter dash in 13.10. The state meet is Friday and Saturday in Jefferson City.
Purdy qualifies 1 to state
A Purdy sophomore has qualified to the MSHSAA Class 2 State Championship in shot put. Lizett Aldava finished 4th at the Class 2, Sectional 3 with a distance of 10.26 meters. The first-place finisher threw 11.99 meters. Just outside of qualification to state was Eagle sophomore Logan Manwarren, who took 5th place in the 1600-meter run in 4:48.53, just 8 seconds from qualification. The state meet is Friday and Saturday in Jefferson City.
Bittle qualifies for shot put

Wheaton senior Jacob Bittle has qualified for the MSHSAA Class 1 State Championship in shot put. At the Class 1, Sectional 3 meet, Bittle threw 12.78 meters, good for 4th place. The winner threw 14.17 meters. The state meet is Friday and Saturday in Jefferson City.
Lady Tiger heading to state
An Exeter senior is headed to the MSHSAA Class 1 State Championship this week. Kaylyn Weiser jumped 9.19 meters in the triple jump, good for 4th place. The winner logged a 10.24-meter jump. Also competing for Exeter was Honesty Hall, who took 5th in the 100-meter dash in 13.56 and 6th in the 200-meter dash in 29.06
Cassville Middle School athletes win Big 8 awards
The Cassville Middle School competed in the Big 8 Meet recently, winning multiple awards. As teams, the seventh-grade boys were fourth, seventh-grade girls sixth, eighth-grade boys third and eighth-grade girls ninth. Individual winners include:
