Gwendolyn Hazel “Gwen” Runyan

Gwendolyn Hazel “Gwen” Runyan, 91, a longtime resident of Eagle Rock, Mo., passed away Saturday, April 20, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas, in Rogers, Ark.

She was born in Bakersfield, Calif., on June 8, 1933, the daughter of A.L. “Brownie” and Ila (Waters) Armstrong, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death was her husband Richard “Dick” Runyan; a daughter, Lori Leigh; a son, Michael Danley; one granddaughter, Sadie Ramos; a brother, Norman Armstrong and a sister, Arlene Rhodes.

Survivors include one daughter, Julie Fox of Brownwood, Texas; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She grew up in Lamont, Calif., and was employed as a dental hygienist for several years.

She and Dick retired in Eagle Rock, Mo. , where she helped run the Americas Best Value Inn in Cassville.

She was of the Christian faith.

Services were held Monday, April 28, 2025 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Brother Tony Ball conducted the service.

Burial will be at a later date at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.
