Roark brings home lone gold, multiple silver and bronze finishes

Cassville’s returning state champion was the lone champion for the Wildcats at the 63rd People’s Bank of Seneca Tournament on Saturday, leading the squad to a second-place team finish in the 24-team tournament.

Colton Roark, at 175 pounds, pinned his first three opponents in the first round, then delivered a major decision over Southern Boone’s Owen Britton to take first place in the tournament.

Runner-up finishes went to Boni Lopez at 113 pounds, Rylen Holman at 126 pounds and Braydyn Sizemore at 150 pounds. In third place and finishing the tournament with a win was Michael Winchell at 120 pounds, Kole Fry at 132 pounds, Zachary Myers at 190 pounds and Riley James at 215 pounds.

Kellen Weldy took fourth at 138 pounds, Logan Parsons finished sixth at 144 pounds, Tyler Hodge took ninth at 157 pounds and Dylan Sorenson claimed eighth at 165 pounds.
