Barry County Health Corner

Barry County Health Department offers an array of family health services including woman’s health, family planning, birth control, and more. In collaboration with the Ozark Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) Family Planning, we offer the following services:

Women’s Health Services: Services available for all women of child bearing age: Pap Smears (only age 21+), Breast Exams, Birth Control, Prenatal Counseling, Pregnancy Testing, Confidential HIV/STD Testing, Counseling and Treatment

Show-Me Healthy Women: Free services to women ages 21-64 who are uninsured. Services include: Pap Smears and Mammograms in addition to the services listed in Women’s Health Services. In some instances, Specialist consults such as Diagnostic mammograms and ultrasounds as well cervical specialist consults.

Family Planning Services which may include: Routine gynecological exams (pap smear, pelvic exam, breast exam), Screening and treatment of vaginal infections and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), Pregnancy testing/counseling/referrals, Training on self-breast exams, Education and counseling on birth control options, Prescription and non-prescription birth control supplies.

Birth Control Methods Include: Prescription Methods: Oral contraceptives (the pill), Birth Control Patch (Ortho Evra), Birth Control Ring (NuvaRing), Depo-Provera (injection), Implant (Nexplanon) by referral, and IUD (Intrauterine Device) by referral. Non-prescription methods: Condoms.

Fees for medical services and contraceptives are on a sliding scale based on income and ability to pay. Medicaid is accepted. No age or marital restrictions for birth control and other services (excluding pap smear, must be 21+). 

All family planning services are completely confidential.
