Cassville Arts Council play rehearsal upcoming
Come be a hero (or a god). Join the Cassville Arts Council in bringing “The Lightning Thief – The Percy Jackson Musical” to life. First rehearsal is June 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sho-Me Plaza, located at 404 State Hwy. 248 in Cassville. Rehearsals continue Mondays through Thursdays from 6:30- 9 p.m. Not everyone will be at every rehearsal. Performances are Aug. 21-24 at the Crowder College Cassville Community Building. Assignment of specific parts will be done after a few rehearsals. Everyone who wants to participate is welcome. What about auditions? The Council has found that working with the cast for a few rehearsals gives them a better idea of where people best fit. People become more familiar with the script and music. It reduces stress and gives people their best opportunity to shine. What if a person only interested in certain parts? If willing to join for a few rehearsals, participants can look at them like callbacks. “Who knows, maybe you will decide to stay even if you don’t get the part you were looking for,” a Council release said. “Otherwise, contact us Io work something out that is more like a traditional audition.” For more information, people may contact Trent Oliphant at cassvillearts@gmail.com.
