Donavon Thomas Mitchell

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Donavon Thomas Mitchell, who left us far too soon on April 27, 2025.
Donavon was born on October 13, 2002, in Chico, California, and brought light, warmth, and kindness to all who knew him. As a proud member of the Wintun-Pomo Native American tribe, Donavon had recently begun a heartfelt and spiritual journey into reconnecting with his Native heritage. This journey was forwarding his knowledge of the world.
Donavon will be remembered for his gentle and silly soul, his boundless love for his friends and family, and his enduring affection for babies, pets and video games. His kindness, quiet strength, and sweet spirit touched many, and his absence leaves a space that will not be filled.
He is survived by his loving parents; mother, Kelly; stepfather, Everett; father, Harold; and stepmother Daisy. He is also remembered with love by his brothers Alex and Lynn; sisters Autumn and Samantha; his cherished nieces Ellie, Olivia, and Esmarelda; and nephews Ember and Anthony; many cousins; and his extended kin.
Donavon’s presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His kind spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. May he rest in peace and journey to tomorrow.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 13, at 4 p.m. at Rocky Edmondson Park in Cassville.
