Vanessa Rae Puryear, 63, of Cassville, Mo. passed away on May 2, 2025, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark.

She was born on July 28, 1961, in Adrian, Mich., to Travis and Katherine (Barnett) Hornsby.

Preceding her in death was her husband Danny Puryear; her father and brother-in-law, Steve Bailey.

Survivors include her mother, Katherine of Adrian, Mich.; boyfriend, David Gentry, of Cassville, Mo.; one son, Jeremy Cotton and his wife, Machele of Seligman, Mo.; one daughter, Kathleen Russell, and her husband, Simon of Seligman, Mo.; one brother, William Hornsby and his wife, Margie, of Adrian, Mich.; three sisters, Peggy Timmerman of Adrian, Mich., Teresa Franklin and her husband, Harvey, of Conway, S.C., and Lorie Bailey also of Adrian, Mich.; four grandchildren, and one on the way, and very close friend, Jeannie Williams.

She grew up in Adrian, Mich., and graduated from Adrian High School in 1979. She was a dedicated employee at Harris Baking in Rogers, Ark., where she retired after 24 years.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
