Clarence Thomas “Bud” Scott, Jr.

Clarence Thomas “Bud” Scott, Jr., age 75, of Rocky Comfort, Mo. passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo.
He was born March 15, 1950 in Vinita, Okla., the son of Clarence Thomas Scott, Sr. and Wilma Jean (Burnett) Scott, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death was his late wife, Carol Scott; granddaughter, Baylee-Ann Porter; brother-in-law, Steve Brock; nephew, Randy Allen Brock; niece, Kim Lowe and father-in-law, James Craig.
Survivors include his wife Peggy Craig; two sons, Clarence Thomas Alan Scott of Springfield, Ohio and Noah Malcom Scott and his wife Brittany of Springfield, Ohio; six daughters, Denise Ruefer and her husband Donnie Anderson of Evansville, Wis., Christina Houchin of Cloquet, Minn., Holly Henson and her husband Bobby of Joplin, Mo., Kaylee White and her husband Keith of Powell, Mo., Erin Porter and her husband Joshua of Neosho, Mo. and Grace Chappelle and her husband Caleb of Rocky Comfort, Mo.; three sisters, Iris Brock of Rocky Comfort, Mo., Janice Cooper and her husband Larry of Springfield, Mo. and Sandra LeVasseur and her husband Doug of Bentonville, Ark.; numerous grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He went to school in McDonald County, Mo., graduating from McDonald County High School in 1968. He later attended Mo. Southern State College attaining an associate degree in automotive technology. He was employed by Automatic Systems, Incorporated in Kansas City, Mo. as a construction superintendent from where he retired in 2007. He was a volunteer at the bi-monthly food pantry at the Body of Christ Ministries and an active member and past president of the Rocky Comfort Community Club.
He was a member and the head deacon at Body of Christ Ministries.
Memorial services were held Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Body of Christ Ministries in
Wheaton, Mo. Reverend Larry Cooper and Stacey Tichenor conducted the services.
