Charles “Scott” McCracken

Charles “Scott” McCracken, 48, of Wheaton, Mo., passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

He was born January 8, 1978, ten weeks early, in Springfield, Mo. to Carl and Janell (Ellis) McCracken. 

When he was nine months old, he attended Monett Development Center until he was five. He graduated from Wheaton High School in 1997. After graduation, he moved to Monett, Mo. where he lived in a group home and made numerous friends. He was employed by Monett Work Shop for several years. 

He was a member of New Site Baptist Church in Monett, Mo. He loved going to church and sang at many churches in the area.

Survivors include his precious momma, Janell; stepdad, Gary Brattin; sisters, Staci Shockley (Michael) of Washburn, Mo., Nikki Allen (Rodney) of Wheaton, Mo., and Shanna Banks (Bobby) of Fairview, Mo.; brothers, Landon Brattin (Karen) and Chad Brattin (Bridget), both of Wheaton, Mo., and Chett Daniels (Melissa) of Neosho, Mo., and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Also surviving are many, many friends.

Preceding him in death were his daddy, Carl “Spud” McCracken; paternal grandparents, Bill and Betty McCracken of Wheaton, Mo., and maternal grandparents, Maurice and Doris Ellis of Rocky Comfort, Mo.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 28, 2026, at Ridgley Baptist Church in Ridgley, Mo. under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor John Henry and Brother Danny Heupel conducted the services. Bural was at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton, Mo.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Hospice Compassus of Monett in memory of Scott.
